Bill Wienecke

Bill is married with three grown children and seven grandchildren. He is a retired history teacher of 36 years from the Somers Central School District in Somers, New York. Bill has been re-enacting since 2005. He is captain and president of the re-enacting regiment; Duryee’s Zouaves 5th N.Y. Volunteers Co. D \ 20h “Ulster Guard”, (80th N.Y.).
Bill graduated from Cortland State and has a Master’s degree in history from Iona College.
He received Town of Somers recognition for “commitment to the students of Somers” with a Proclamation of “Bill Wienecke Day in Somers” May 23, 2014. In 2017 he was awarded the “Old Bet Award” for promoting regional history from the Somers Historical Society and in 2017 also received N.Y.S. Senate Resolution No. 2176 in recognition of 12 years of organizing the Somers Middle School Living History Day promoting history and honoring Somers service personnel. In 2019 he received the Somers Lions Distinguished Service Award.
He is currently serving as Master Teacher and Program Director for the Living History Education Foundation (http://www.livinghistoryed.org a not-for-profit education organization founded in 2001 which provides teacher and school programs as well as leadership workshops in the private sector.

Robert Buccheri
Robert is a Social Studies teacher at Carmel High School in Carmel. NY He's been teaching
American History for 31 years and is a reenactor for the French and Indian, Revolutionary and Civil War eras.
He has a Bachelors in History at the University at Buffalo and a Masters Degree from Western Connecticut State University. He is the Master educator for the Living History Education Foundation and teaches many graduate courses to local educators from the State of New York.
Robert has presented at many historic sites, libraries and numerous Social Studies conferences for the Westchester Lower Hudson Council for Social Studies. Rob was awarded
the Putnam County Exemplary History in Public Schools Award in 2024. He was also awarded
the Bob and Marion Wilson Excellence in teaching award from the Sons of the American Revolution in 2023. In 2010, Rob was awarded the New York State Excellence in teaching award by the Daughters of the American Revolution. He has traveled extensively to historic Revolutionary and Civil War sites throughout the country.
